C. Read about Haydn’s music

D. Listen to his music on the recordings site (or other place).

E. Write a short paper comparing the lives and music of Mozart and Haydn:

500-750 words

The paper should incorporate
- your personal observations
- commentary by other writers.
Comment on the following:
- What makes the music/life of each composer unique?
- How is the music/life of each composer similar to that of the other?
- How is it different?
- Which of two composers do you enjoy more?
- Why?
Be specific, that is, comment on specific aspects of the music that appeal to you. (Even if you cannot use technical terms, you can use non-technical terminology to describe various aspects of the music.)
The paper will be evaluated on both content and with respect to grammar, punctuation, clarity, coherence, and organization. Feedback on all these areas will be given within one week of the paper’s submittal. The rubric for grading this paper follows:
