B. Download the files at the following links, answer the questions and send the files to me electronically (edwardschaefer@edwardschaefer.net) (When you submit the form make sure you follow the directions at this link carefully.):

MODE IDENTIFICATION WORKSHEET This file has ten chants on it. Some are traditional chants; some are familiar tunes from hymnals. For each musical example, you will need to answer the questions on the sheet, using the information gathered for the answers to the first three questions to identify the mode of the piece in the fourth question.

PSALM TONE IDENTIFICATION WORKSHEET This file has some simple chant melodies in it, and several Psalm tone formulas. You will need to match the melodies with the appropriate psalm tones. (This will require that you properly identify the mode of the melody and also identify the Psalm tone for that mode.)
C. Grading

The following scale will be used for all grades, including the final grade.
A 95-100 %
A- 94%
B+ 93%
B 88-92 %
B- 87%
C+ 86%
C 79-85 %
C- 78%
D+ 77%
D 71-76 %
D- 70%
E 69% or lower.
This scale will be used to apply the appropriate number of points earned for each assignment. For example, an assignment worth 10 points that is graded as an A assignment will earn between 9.5 and 10 points
