Liturgical Year Calendar
A. Read the following texts:

Schaefer, Catholic Church Music Through the Ages, Chapter One.

B. Find a Graduale Romanum and familiarize yourself with its organization, its terminology and its indexes.

There is an online version of the Graduale Romanum, organized according to the Tridentine calendar: http://www.musicasacra.com/pdf/graduale1961.pdf.

For assistance with Latin words, you can go to http://archives.nd.edu/words.html. This site will provide English translations for Latin words and Latin translations for English words.
C. Download the LITURGICAL YEAR WORKSHEET sheet, answer the questions on the worksheet and email it to me at edwardschaefer@edwardschaefer.net. (Remember: when you submit the form make sure you follow the directions at this link carefully.) (The questions on the form all ask you to identify various chants for particular feasts/days of the liturgical year or vice versa.)
D. Grading

The following scale will be used for all grades, including the final grade.
A 95-100 %
A- 94%
B+ 93%
B 88-92 %
B- 87%
C+ 86%
C 79-85 %
C- 78%
D+ 77%
D 71-76 %
D- 70%
E 69% or lower.
This scale will be used to apply the appropriate number of points earned for each assignment. For example, an assignment worth 10 points that is graded as an A assignment will earn between 9.5 and 10 points
